Contouring of critical organs, called Organs at Risk (OARs) in medical images acquired for RT planning is necessary to ensure that a proper dose of radiation is delivered to the tumor while minimizing the radiation dose to healthy organs. Autocontouring can add value to current clinical practice by producing highly reliable and robust contours for real-world cases (cases with problematic characteristics e.g. streak artifacts, severe pathology, contrast insufficiency and shape distortion).
